The story
Only three families in Patan still weave genuine double-ikat Patola. We source from Salvi family, who have held the GI certification since 2004. A double-ikat requires dyeing both the warp and weft threads before weaving, so each colour aligns precisely at every intersection. The geometric repeat in this saree has 1,440 individual colour nodes per centimetre.
How we source
Woven at the loom, carried to Kalbadevi, sold to one family.
Every piece we stock is bought directly from the master weaver. No middlemen. No mill production. Ramubhai will tell you the thread count, the loom number, and the weaver's name.
